Mobilize. Inspire. Lead.

Bringing Youth to the Senate and the Senate to Youth.

Hon. Marilou McPhedran

As a long-time advocate for women’s rights and human rights, it is my honour to welcome you to my youth advisory - the Canadian Council of Young Feminists (CCYF). Our dedicated group of young leaders works on a wide array of initiatives and research to ensure a fair and inclusive future for all.

When I was first appointed to the Senate of Canada by David Johnston on the recommendation of the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau in November 2016, I made a clear commitment to bring youth to the Senate and the Senate to youth. I continue to believe that youth are essential agents of change and are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but the leaders of today.

CCYF is an opportunity where you can be heard and make a difference. I encourage you to join our team.

About CCYF

The Canadian Council of Young Feminists (CCYF) - the youth advisory of Senator Marilou McPhedran - is a dynamic and inclusive network dedicated to empowering youth across Canada. We provide a platform for young Canadians aged 15 to 30 to engage with social justice, equality-focused issues, and (inter)national forums.

Our mission is to foster collaboration, leadership, civic engagement, and enable youth to contribute meaningfully to the Senate of Canada, facilitated by the Office of Hon. McPhedran.

CCYF believes in the power of diverse perspectives and values the voices of youth in shaping a stronger, more inclusive democracy. Whether you're a student, young professional, activist, or someone passionate about making a difference, CCYF offers exciting opportunities to grow and lead.
